SilkyGirl Hydrawhite

November 18, 2014

I'm honestly not a big fan of changing my makeup products if it works for me but I decided to give it a try with SILKYGIRL’s latest Hydra White 2-Way Foundation for two main reasons - it promises not only to whiten your skin, but hydrate it as well!

Finding a foundation is pretty tough for me. As some of you may know, all I usually use is my DRx sunblock with loose powder over it. But I can’t deny there are days that require heavier coverage and after trying SILKYGIRL’s Hydra White 2-Way Foundation, I can say it definitely ensures the coverage.

When I heard of a foundation whitening your skin, I was pretty interested. How this one does it is it contains 3 whitening agents: Whitemaxyl, Glutathione & ArbutinFrom what I’ve read, I don’t think it bleaches your skin but it does create the effect that your skin is visibly fairer when it’s on!
Other than that, it contains SPF 30/PA+++ and hydrating agents – Sodium Hyaluronate & Vitamin E. Sodium Hyaluronate helps to soften your skin and keep it hydratedVitamin E protects your skin from free radicals and helps to retain your skin’s moisture level, giving you that dewy look.

It comes in 4 shades and I use the fairest one - 01 Nude! Some of the shades have a tinge of yellow in them hence since I’m Asian (Chinese), I guess it probably helps match it to my skin a bit more!

I also love the baby blue compact packaging that can fit easily into my bags and that provides me easy touch up on the go with its big mirror that stretches throughout the casing lid!

So I’ve tried it for a while now and I like the fact that it contains whitening properties and SPF30 cause many of you should know how much I enjoy being fair and protected from the sunIt was pretty good in lasting to the end of the day with minimal touch-ups, mostly only at my T-zone area. Coverage is a little thick for my daily wear hence if you’re similar, my suggestion is wearing it at night or using a thinner layer – don’t cake it on. But if you like heavier coverage, you can use a wet sponge to apply it!
Still a pretty good product given it has all those properties for an affordable price. If you’re interested, you can check out their Facebook page:
