The Famous Kitchen has been around for quite a few years now, but I only got to try the delicious eats here one or two weeks ago!
They serve hearty, good ol' Chinese/Teochew Cuisine and it seems like many people from all over the world love and keep on coming back for more as you can see from the walls and walls full of photographs....
The owner of this joint is a very kind old man who fed us all so well that night I remember not feeling hungry when I woke up the next day...
Literally every dish was yummy so I'll talk more about the dishes that are 'must order' in my humble opinion!
Their Signature Fish on the top right, that is so super fresh and tasty without being too salty.
The fish's eyes were clear, and its fins were sticking out - These are sure signs that the fish you're eating is fresh as can be!
I also really liked the Steamed Chicken dish on the bottom right with their own homemade sauce and garlic chilli. The chicken is also kampong chicken which means the flesh is tastier and has no artificial steroids or whatsoever.
The next four dishes were so indulgent... Clockwise from top left to bottom left :
Lobster BeeHoon, Salt-Baked Flower, Black Pepper Crab and Chilli Crab.
ALL OF THEM WERE REALLY DELICIOUS, but if I had to pick one, it'd be the Black Pepper Crab.
I've always liked and tried loads of Black Pepper Crab dishes from many famous restaurants in Singapore but THIS ONE, is just different. According to the owner, their black pepper is super rare and that's why the flavour is so extra spunky.
This dish deserves to be a picture on its own, because it's just so goddamned good.
KL Fat Noodles! A must try. It's not always available though, because it sells out quickly, so I suggest calling in to enquire before you head on down.
They also serve wine, if you enjoy drinking a little while you eat.
I'll definitely be back soon, since I'm intending to bring my entire family to try it!
